Sue Phillips is a globally respected fragrance expert, author of
The Power of Perfume (www.thepowerofperfume.com), and an internationally sought-after keynote speaker known for transforming fragrance into immersive, multi-sensory experiences. Over a distinguished career spanning more than four decades, Sue has created bespoke fragrances for high-net-worth individuals and A-list celebrities, including Jamie Foxx, Katie Holmes, Zendaya, and Susan Sarandon. Notably, she was entrusted by the family of renowned arts patron Agnes Gund to recreate her personal fragrance as a lasting olfactory legacy.
In the corporate and luxury sectors, Sue began her career at Elizabeth Arden and Lancôme before being selected by Tiffany & Co. to create its first fragrance in celebration of the company’s 150th anniversary. She has also developed iconic scents for Burberry, Avon, Trish McEvoy, Lancaster, and Oilily. A pioneer in experiential scent marketing, she has created over 40,000 custom fragrances and leads executive team-building programs for Fortune 500 companies, including AOL, Google, Pinterest, Wells Fargo, and Citibank.
Beyond her commercial work, Sue has helped hundreds of individuals recover their sense of smell following COVID-related anosmia, a journey documented in her forthcoming book on the neuroscience and emotional power of scent. Recently relocated from New York to Sarasota, Florida, she continues her educational outreach through OLLI lectures, fragrance history courses, and community events at Aviva Senior Living, Chabad Women’s Group, and the Ana Molinari Salon. A visionary “Scentrepreneur,” Sue is guided by her philosophy of the Six P’s: Passion, Persistence, Perseverance, Purpose, Professionalism—and, of course, Perfume.
