Sian Welch is the CEO of New Start Health Enterprises, carrying forward a healthcare mission established over 40 years ago by her mother, Mary Williams, RN. Growing up within the organization, Sian witnessed how catastrophic illness impacts entire families, shaping her lifelong commitment to compassionate care and patient independence.
After college, Sian became a professional triathlete, famously remembered for her iconic finish at the 1997 Ironman World Championship, where she crawled across the line—a symbol of pure resilience. In 2009, she returned to her roots to work alongside her mother, later leading the nonprofit Freedom to Live and raising nearly $1 million for those with complex medical needs.
Over the past 15 years, Sian has expanded the mission by growing New Start Home Health Care and launching the next generation of Congregate Living Health Facilities. Since 2020, her leadership has helped medically complex patients achieve stability and a higher quality of life. Today, she strives to redefine long-term recovery by bridging the gap between hospital care and lifelong wellness.
